Inaugural Season:
The team began as a Sioux City franchise in 1893.
In 1894, Charles Comiskey purchased the team and moved it to St. Paul.
In 1900, the St. Paul Saints moved to Chicago and became the White Stockings.
The American League declared itself to be a second major league in 1901 and set up a game schedule. The first "official" American League game was played on April 22, 1901, when the White Sox defeated Cleveland 8–2.
World Series: 1906, 1917, 2005
